1. The Sunway College Special Scholarship (referred to hereafter as the Scholarship) is offered strictly to full-time registered students for Pre-University, Professional Accounting and selected Diploma programmes at Sunway College.
2. Application for the scholarship is based on trial / mock results, forecast is accepted on a case-to-case basis. Upon actual results being released, results must meet the minimum programme entry requirement. A copy of the actual results must be provided to the Scholarship Committee. In the event the recipient fails to meet the minimum programme entry requirements, the scholarship offer will automatically be revoked.
3. The awarded Scholarship takes the form of a tuition fee deduction (to be implemented from the 1st semester onwards) and does not cover general fees, exam fees, re-sit or re-enrolment fees and accommodation fees, which must be paid by all scholarship recipients where applicable.
4. The Scholarship recipient is required to pay the enrolment fee of RM700 (non-refundable) upon acceptance of the Scholarship by a given period by Sunway College, and the balance of the fees due (after deduction) on or before the commencement date of the programme, failing which the Scholarship will be considered null and void.
5. Sunway College reserves the right to review the Scholarship awarded on a semester basis. Scholarship may be withdrawn, in the event of gross misconduct, failure to meet the required academic grades, or withdrawal by the recipient.
6. For students who are eligible for several forms of discounts by Sunway Education Group or Sunway Group (e.g. Staff Discount, Sibling Discount, etc.), the awarded Scholarship will be applicable on the net balance of the tuition fee payable after the deduction of the relevant discount/bursary and NOT on the total sum of the tuition fee.
7. Recipients are eligible for only one (1) type of Sunway College / Sunway University scholarship per application period. The one with the highest quantum will automatically apply.
8. The scholarship committee emphasizes the importance of complete and truthful information in all application materials. Any discovery of false or misleading statements may lead to the withdrawal of the scholarship and potential ineligibility for future awards.
9. The scholarship awarded is for the programme and intake granted. If there are changes, the Scholarship Committee must be informed immediately. Any approval for special cases is at the absolute discretion of the Scholarship Committee. Failure to attend the programme on the given intake date will also result in an immediate termination of scholarship.
10. Sunway College reserves the right to involve the Scholarship recipients in interviews, advertisements, photography or other publicity-related activities for the purpose of promoting the educational institution.
11. Sunway College reserves the right to alter, add or delete any of the terms and conditions of the Scholarship scheme at any point in time as and when Sunway College deems necessary. In the event of a dispute on the eligibility for the Scholarship, the decision made by the Scholarship Committee is final and no appeals will be entertained.
12. Upon accepting this award, the recipient is deemed to have accepted all terms and conditions stipulated here.
13. All personal data provided may be used by or on behalf of Sunway College / Sunway University in processing of scholarship application, announcement of event details, programmes, marketing information, collection of feedback and any other purposes. All data collected will be handled in strict accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) 2010 guidelines.
