Offered in honour of Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Sir Jeffrey Cheah KBE AO, Chancellor of Sunway University, and Right Honourable Alan Milburn, Chancellor of Lancaster University, UK, this scholarship commemorates the affiliation between Sunway and Lancaster University in the joint degree programmes in a variety of disciplines.

  1. Candidates must demonstrate consistent track record of leadership roles in extracurricular activities at school or community level. This might include positions in student clubs, volunteer organizations, or other leadership experiences.
  2. Candidates should possess good communication skills, self-confidence and thrive on challenges
  3. Applicants are expected to meet the following academic criteria:
    • Cambridge GCE A Level: AAA
    • Australian Matriculation: ATAR 95
    • Canadian International Matriculation Programme/SIS Ontario Grade 12: 95%
    • Monash University Foundation Year: 95% (Best 4 subjects)
    • Sunway Foundation in Arts/Sunway Foundation in Science and Technology: CGPA 3.95^
    • Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (STPM): AAA
    • Unified Examination Certificate (UEC): 8A1
    • International Baccalaureate: 37
    • Other Foundation/ Diploma: CGPA 3.95

^ Sunway FIA/ FIST students who have yet receive their official academic transcript may apply with the latest semesters’ examination result.

  1. Full tuition fee deduction
  2. It also includes a three (3) weeks study visit to Lancaster University any time after Year 1 *
  3. Costs covered by Sunway University and Lancaster University for the study visit are:
    • Return air-fare (economy class) from Kuala Lumpur to Lancaster
    • Accommodation at Lancaster University

* A suitable substitute will be arranged in case of any unexpected circumstances

  5. The terms and manner in which the scholarship is disbursed will be decided by Sunway University and Lancaster University. All decisions made by the joint Sunway University – Lancaster University Scholarship Committee are final.

Offered to students with excellent academic and leadership achievements interested to pursue Sunway University’s undergraduate programmes.

Commemorating the partnership with Victoria University, Melbourne, this scholarship students with outstanding academic and leadership accomplishments wishing to pursue the  Bachelor of Business undergraduate programme

  2. Candidates should possess good communication skills, self-confidence and thrive on challenges
  3. Applicants are expected to meet the following academic criteria:

The scholarship gives a full tuition fee deduction. It also includes undertaking a study visit to complete a credit bearing module (a ‘VU Block Model’ unit) over four (4) weeks at Victoria University, Melbourne in the second year of the programme***.

Costs covered for the study visits are:

  1. Accommodation with a Victoria University approved accommodation provider (covered by Victoria University)
  2. Return air-fare (economy class) from Kuala Lumpur to Melbourne (covered by Sunway College)

*** In the event that the scholarship recipient is unable to travel at the planned time, due to extenuating and unforeseen circumstances, alternative arrangements will be put in place for the student, upon the approval of Victoria University and Sunway College.

  3. The scholarship will be subjected to a review at the end of every semester. A scholar must pass all examinations and maintain high academic standards (70% grade average), failing which the scholarship can be withdrawn.
  4. The terms and manner in which the scholarship is disbursed will be decided by Sunway College KL and Victoria University. All decisions made by the joint Sunway University – Victoria University Scholarship Committee are final.

The Sunway CIS-ECA Scholarship 2024 is open to all Chinese Independent School (CIS) students who sat for the UEC examination in 2023. Scholarships will be awarded to eligible students for 2024 February, March and April intakes only.

  • Active or have held positions of responsibility in school or in extra-curricular activities such as sports, societies, clubs or uniformed bodies, or have contributed back to the community, championed a cause, or started entrepreneurial ventures.

Note: Selection of scholars, eligibility for the scholarship, and scholarship amount awarded, are at the sole discretion of the Sunway Scholarship Committee. In the event of a dispute, the decision made by the Sunway Scholarship Committee is final.

Awarded to High School Students in recognition of their excellent trial result, extracurricular activities and personal statement prior to receiving actual result and admissions into a new programme in Sunway College (KL).

  1. Local and international students studying in Malaysia completing final high school examinations:
    • O-Levels/IGCSE/OSSD (final exam sitting in June or November 2024)
    • SPM 2024 (exam in February 2024)
  2. Achieved 70%/As above in minimum 4 subjects in your trial examination results.
  3. Actively involved in Extra-Curricular Activities in the form of any of these 3 categories (Year 2020 onwards; online participations are taken into consideration):

  3. The Sunway College Special Scholarship (referred to hereafter as the Scholarship) is offered strictly to full-time registered students for Pre-University, Professional Accounting and selected Diploma programmes at Sunway College.
  4. The awarded Scholarship takes the form of a tuition fee deduction (to be implemented from the 1st semester onwards) and does not cover general fees, exam fees, re-sit or re-enrolment fees and accommodation fees, which must be paid by all scholarship recipients where applicable.
  5. The Scholarship recipient is required to pay the enrolment fee of RM700 (non-refundable) upon acceptance of the Scholarship by a given period by Sunway College, and the balance of the fees due (after deduction) on or before the commencement date of the programme, failing which the Scholarship will be considered null and void.
  6. Recipients of scholarships and bursaries from other bodies are not eligible for the Scholarship.
  7. Special consideration for later intakes may be given to students attending. Student Exchange Programme when accompanied with proof of documentation. Please write in to specialscholarship@sunway.edu.my with the proof of documentation.
  8. Sunway College reserves the right to review the Scholarship awarded on a semester basis. Scholarship may be withdrawn, in the event of gross misconduct, failure to meet the required academic grades, or withdrawal by the recipient.
  9. For students who are eligible for several forms of discounts by Sunway Education Group or Sunway Group (e.g. Staff Discount, Sibling Discount, etc.), the awarded Scholarship will be applicable on the net balance of the tuition fee payable after the deduction of the relevant discount/bursary and NOT on the total sum of the tuition fee.
  10. Sunway College reserves the right to involve the Scholarship recipients in interviews, advertisements, photography or other publicity-related activities for the purpose of promoting the educational institution.
  11. Sunway College reserves the right to alter, add or delete any of the terms and conditions of the Scholarship scheme at any point in time as and when Sunway College deems necessary. In the event of a dispute on the eligibility for the Scholarship, the decision made by the Scholarship Committee is final and no appeals will be entertained.10.Any transfer of programme will be subjected to the approval by the Special Scholarship Committee and the Scholarship quantum may be reviewed.
