Offered in honour of Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Sir Jeffrey Cheah KBE AO, Chancellor of Sunway University, and Right Honourable Alan Milburn, Chancellor of Lancaster University, UK, this scholarship commemorates the affiliation between Sunway and Lancaster University in the joint degree programmes in a variety of disciplines.

  1. Candidates must demonstrate consistent track record of leadership roles in extracurricular activities at school or community level. This might include positions in student clubs, volunteer organizations, or other leadership experiences.
  2. Candidates should possess good communication skills, self-confidence and thrive on challenges
  3. Applicants are expected to meet the following academic criteria:
    • Cambridge GCE A Level: AAA
    • Australian Matriculation: ATAR 95
    • Canadian International Matriculation Programme/SIS Ontario Grade 12: 95%
    • Monash University Foundation Year: 95% (Best 4 subjects)
    • Sunway Foundation in Arts/Sunway Foundation in Science and Technology: CGPA 3.95^
    • Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (STPM): AAA
    • Unified Examination Certificate (UEC): 8A1
    • International Baccalaureate: 37
    • Other Foundation/ Diploma: CGPA 3.95

^ Sunway FIA/ FIST students who have yet receive their official academic transcript may apply with the latest semesters’ examination result.

  1. Full tuition fee deduction
  2. It also includes a three (3) weeks study visit to Lancaster University any time after Year 1 *
  3. Costs covered by Sunway University and Lancaster University for the study visit are:
    • Return air-fare (economy class) from Kuala Lumpur to Lancaster
    • Accommodation at Lancaster University

* A suitable substitute will be arranged in case of any unexpected circumstances

Attach the certified true copy document(s) for the Online Scholarship Application:

  • SPM/ STPM/ Pre-University certificate or equivalent.
  • All results obtained in college including the latest results.
  • All extracurricular activities certificates.
  • Curriculum vitae (CV)
  1. Complete the Online Scholarship Application Form, with the required supporting documents: https://sunway.edu.my/scholarship-app/
  2. Scholarship selection interviews will take place in April (April deadline) and September (September deadline).
  3. Only applicants shortlisted for an interview will be informed via a phone call followed by an e-mail by early of April (April deadline) and end of August (September deadline).
  4. Applicants that are not shortlisted will receive an e-mail communication.
  • 1 April 2026 (for January & April intakes) 
  • 24 August 2026 (for September intake)

Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for interview

  1. Only Malaysian citizens are eligible to apply.
  2. Please refer to the General Terms & Conditions that apply to all scholarships
  3. Offer of scholarship will be made only when Sunway University receives the actual results and after an interview has been conducted.
  4. The scholarship will be subjected to a review at the end of every semester. A scholar must pass all examinations and maintain high academic standards (CGPA 3.80), failing which the scholarship can be withdrawn.
  5. The terms and manner in which the scholarship is disbursed will be decided by Sunway University and Lancaster University. All decisions made by the joint Sunway University – Lancaster University Scholarship Committee are final.
