MARA Graduate Excellence Programme (GrEP) 2024
MARA offers education loans in the form of convertible loans for Post Graduate levels (Master’s Degree and Doctor of Philosophy) at leading Institutions of Higher Education locally and abroad to outstanding graduates in fields that have a significant impact on national employment needs.
Specifically for post-Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree students to further their studies in Master’s and Doctoral degrees in fields and universities set by MARA.

TERMS OF APPLICATION
- The applicant is Malay / Bumiputera and Malaysian citizen.
- Either the mother OR father is Malay/ Bumiputera and is a Malaysian citizen.
- Applicant age limit requirements :-

- Study in the current year.
- Applicant / Mother / Father / Guardian are not included in MARA’s blacklist or legal action.
- Applicants do not receive financial/ sponsorship assistance from any agency for the same degree (double sponsor).
- The courses enrolled in are courses recognized by the Malaysian Government and the Professional Body of Malaysia.
- Has never been terminated by any sponsor for disciplinary action that is unlawful and has no criminal record.
- Free from chronic illnesses / infectious diseases / diseases that require follow-up treatment and are able to study until completion.
- Obtain release / deferment of service contract or repayment of loan from other sponsor bodies (except MARA) for previous study (for those applicable).
- Students must have completed their First Degree / Master’s Degree at the time of application.
- This application is open for full-time coursework or research or mix mode.
- MARA employees and MARA subsidiaries are not eligible to apply for this loan.
- Subject to the current policies and conditions in force.

Applicants who do not meet the CGPA requirements as stated are eligible to be considered, if they have work experience in a related field for at least three (3) years.
- Applicants who are currently studying or are about to begin their studies before or have obtained an official offer letter from the university.
- Applicants who are currently studying must have at least 1 year of remaining study term for Master's Degree and 2 years of PhD.
- Applicants who plan to study locally must obtain an offer of study from the Institutions.
- Applicants must not already possess the same for which they are applying.
- The courses applied must possess accreditation from the Public Service Department (PSD).
- Application is open to full time study only.
The disbursement of loan will be suspended in a particular semester due to any of the following reasons:
- Poor academic performance - average semester result CGPA below 3.0
- Deferment of studies
- Change of course to other programme which is not listed under MARA’s approval
- The loan will be terminated if a student fails to continue in the programme of study as stipulated in the loan agreement.
- Student’s who wish to cancel the loan throughout the study period have to complete the “Borang Pembatalan Perjanjian” available on the MARA website.
- When the loan is terminated, student is required to repay the loan amount taken during the duration of study.
- A written appeal must be submitted to MARA if the student is unable to repay the loan amount taken during the duration of study.
- MARA reserves the right to terminate or withdraw the loan offer at any point in time if the information is false or inaccurate.
- Students who wished to transfer/change programme must complete the “Borang Permohonan Pertukaran Kursus” and submit to Registry staff for verification before send to MARA for approval.
- Change of course to other programme which is not listed under MARA’s approval will results in study loan termination.
