Janice Anry Nugraha

Hi, I’m Janice. I was born in Medan, Indonesia, and I will turn 21 years old this year. Interestingly, I have been spending more than half of my life into music, especially piano. My mother has always dreamt of having her kids playing music; thus, she sent me to piano lessons since I was six. I was just having fun at first, but a couple of years later, I found the perpetual practice of classical songs really bored me, especially when I have been learning the same thing over and over again. Out of sheer curiosity, I found and learnt contemporary music from my church mate. Never had I expected that it could be such thrilling!

That is the reason why I am here at Sunway University. This university provides world-class facilities as well as top-tier lecturers to help me throughout my learning journey. As a third-year student, I realised that I had learnt so much here, and as such, I am very grateful. Moreover, the Music Scholarship has boosted my confidence to do even better in my studies and to reach great heights in my future. Thank you Sunway University for the opportunity, and this is #MySunwayStory!
