“I came from a complex family background. My mother left us when we were young. I stayed with my dad, my step-mother and her children. In 2007, my sister and I were sent to a Home. Due to issues with my Identification Card process, I was unable to enroll in a government school.
I then studied in a few homeschool centres and finally graduated in 2013 through the American High School examinations, but I was still unable to get into any local colleges. I was envious of others getting into colleges and soon became depressed.
After many unsuccessful attempts, we finally got a breakthrough in the form of the Jeffrey Cheah Foundation Community Scholarship and I was offered a place in Sunway University. LIFE CHANGING is what I can say to describe #MySunwayStory.
I made lots of new friends, met lots of good lecturers and learned a lot from all of them. It gave me a university life to enjoy and memories to cherish forever.
To all my juniors, I hope you appreciate what the Jeffery Cheah Foundation has blessed you with. Study hard and work towards a better future while enjoying life.”
