“As a child, I went through many challenges, including the death of my father, the estrangement with my mother, being placed in an orphanage with my brother and standing up to bullies. However, the silver lining was that I found people in the very same orphanage that I call my family now.

Due to my background, I almost lost hope to continue my tertiary education as I could not get a guarantor for loan applications and I was working as a sales person to make ends meet.

#MySunwayStory begun when I got to know about the Jeffery Cheah Foundation Community Scholarship. This scholarship made all the difference in my life as it ensured a quality education, so that I can fulfil my aspirations. Through the scholarship I have been given many opportunities such as the chance to share my story on stage during the Harvard Krokodiloes event, being a Sunway Ambassador and knowing that I have a platform to give back to the society in the future.

These experiences would not have been possible if I was not offered a chance to study in Sunway University. My advice to my juniors is to not take their opportunities given by the Foundation and Sunway University for granted and choose your friends wisely.”
