Everyone has their own dreams and passion to pursue in life. But as for me, dreams will only remain as dreams. I am an average student and come from an average family. My dad had diabetes and kidney failure since I was young. As he had to go through frequent dialysis, it was a ‘mission impossible’ for my parents to support me in future studies. I was deeply saddened how the fact that my dream to be a forensic accountant was all crushed in a day.

As I am only an average student, applying for scholarship has never crossed my mind. But thankfully I got to know about the Sunway Jeffrey Cheah Foundation Community Scholarship through someone close to me. I doubted my chances at first, pondering upon my results, but I took up my courage to go after it. Thus, with the first step I took, I am able to be here today. This scholarship has given me hope.

When I first stepped into Sunway College, it felt so surreal. Never had it crossed my mind that I would be able to study here. I started with CAT and now I have come to my last semester in ACCA. With this wonderful opportunity given to me , I am proud to say that I'm on the right track on achieving my dreams and I believe I am about to reach my goal. Despite all the ups and downs, my journey here has been fruitful to me.

Studying here in Sunway gives me the opportunity to meet people from different backgrounds, cultures and countries. It has helped me to see the possible in the impossible. And I hope you all will see the same too! Do not be limited in your dreams, do not limit your capability in achieving it and do not be discouraged by your current situation, but be courageous and go after your dreams!

This is #MySunwayStory. I hereby end this with a quote, “So many of our dreams at first seem impossible, then they seem improbable and then, when we summon the will, they soon become inevitable” -Christopher Reeve
