Talent Based Scholarships
- Applicant must be between 17 to 25 years old
- Applicant can be a Malaysian or an International citizen
- Applicant must not have gone through any formal culinary courses
- Applicant must meet the minimum entry requirement of the Diploma in Culinary Arts programme:-
- SPM/ SPMV/ O-Level: Pass with minimum 3 credits
- UEC: Pass with minimum 3 Grade Bs
- English Language Requirement: Sunway Intensive English Programme (IEP) Level 3 or IELTS 5.0 or equivalent
- Other qualifications: any other qualifications will be considered on a case-to-case basis
- Full tuition fees
- General fees (excluding Refundable Deposit)
- The shortlisting for the Sunway University Young Chef Cook-Off shall be based on the submission of essay below:-
- Title: “Why should I be selected as a Sunway University Young Chef?” (200 words or less)
- The essay must be submitted together with the Scholarship Application Form
- All shortlisted applicants must attend the Young Chef Cook-Off session assessed by a Panel of Judges from Sunway University consisting of Winning Chefs from Team Malaysia’s Coupe du Monde de la Patisserie 2019 and Sunway Scholarship Committee
- Attach the certified true copy document(s) for the Online Scholarship Application:
- SPM/ SPMV/ O-Level/ UEC certificates or equivalent
- All results obtained inschool/ college including latest results
- School leaving certificates and testimonials
- Essay with the title “Why should I be selected as a Sunway University Young Chef?” (200 words or less)
- Complete the Online Scholarship Application Form, with the required supporting documents: https://sunway.edu.my/scholarship-app/
- Scholarship Cook-Off session will take place in early-April & early-September.
- Only shortlisted applicants will be informed via a phone call followed by an e-mail by end-March & end-August.
- Applicants that are not shortlisted will receive an e-mail communication.
- 8th March 2024 (for April intake)
- 9th August 2024 (for September intake)
- Applicant can be Malaysian or International citizen.

- The disbursement of the Scholarship will be implemented in the 1st semester of the programme.
- Applicant must not have gone through or currently taking any formal culinary course(s) at Sunway University or other institution.
- The scholarship is subjected to review at the end of every semester. Recipient should strive to maintain CGPA 3.00 average in order to maintain the scholarship status.
- Recipient is required to participate, assist and provide support to the School of Hospitality and Service Management’s events/activities.
