Applicant must not have gone through any formal culinary courses
Applicant must meet the minimum entry requirement of the Diploma in Culinary Arts programme:-
SPM/ SPMV/ O-Level: Pass with minimum 3 credits
UEC: Pass with minimum 3 Grade Bs
English Language Requirement: Sunway Intensive English Programme (IEP) Level 3 or IELTS 5.0 or equivalent
Other qualifications: any other qualifications will be considered on a case-to-case basis

The shortlisting for the Sunway University Young Chef Cook-Off shall be based on the submission of essay below:-
Title: “Why should I be selected as a Sunway University Young Chef?” (200 words or less)
The essay must be submitted together with the Scholarship Application Form
All shortlisted applicants must attend the Young Chef Cook-Off session assessed by a Panel of Judges from Sunway University consisting of Winning Chefs from Team Malaysia’s Coupe du Monde de la Patisserie 2019 and Sunway Scholarship Committee
Attach the certified true copy document(s) for the Online Scholarship Application:
SPM/ SPMV/ O-Level/ UEC certificates or equivalent
All results obtained inschool/ college including latest results
School leaving certificates and testimonials
Essay with the title “Why should I be selected as a Sunway University Young Chef?” (200 words or less)
The disbursement of the Scholarship will be implemented in the 1st semester of the programme.
Applicant must not have gone through or currently taking any formal culinary course(s) at Sunway University or other institution.
The scholarship is subjected to review at the end of every semester. Recipient should strive to maintain CGPA 3.00 average in order to maintain the scholarship status.
Recipient is required to participate, assist and provide support to the School of Hospitality and Service Management’s events/activities.
